Here’s some information about the C-25, which you may recall was moved from Bud Bulgrin’s backyard after he passed, to the Gopher State Railway Museum. You can see the caboose on May 3rd as the Museum open’s it’s season. More details below from the GSRM:
Come on out to Gopher State Railway Museum Saturday, May 3rd between 10am and 4pm.
The museum will be open and we’ll be debuting the addition of DM&IR caboose C-25 to our active roster of operating cabooses you can ride in.
Volunteers from the Minnesota Fire Engine Club will be there with a few of their trucks to demonstrate.
There will be a food and refreshment stand selling various items to satisfy hungry, thirsty visitors.
Participate in the GSRM C-25 “buy a board, sign a board” fundraiser time capsule. Donors can purchase a piece of car siding and sign their name on the back. The board with your signature towards the back of the siding will be used in restoration of C-25 and visible to future volunteers when new siding is required.
Other museum rail cars and displays will be open for touring including 1880 Pullman car Manitoba.
Admission is FREE, but donations are accepted to cover the cost to keep the train running.
See you on May 3rd!!
THANKS to the Gopher State Railway Museum for preserving this important piece of DM&IR history!
